    Sat nav connection cable

    Hi

we have decided to upgrade our sat nav and take it with us so my question is do the cars have a cigarette lighter for charging the sat nav or are they all USB ports now ?

    Many thanks

I have a double usb input that fits into a cigarette lighter - easy to get from garages, ebay etc for a couple of pounds and I use that in the UK. That would cover you for either.

Chevvy Trax I hired Nov. Dec. last had "conventional" 12v cigarette lighter socket + USB (5v) + (inexplicably) 110v "mains" socket !!!
Would suggest (as per. Gerry & Sue) that you buy satnav with USB charging -more future-proof & just acquire a USB/cigarette lighter charger (tiny) to cover all eventualities !!!

We used Google maps on our smart phone when we recently visited South Africa and it was brilliant. It doesn't use up your data allowance either!
