I have heard that a new Wal-Mart has opened in Poinciana. Does anyone know the exact location so I can point guests in the right direction? Thanks [msnsmile2]

Not sure but if you go onto Walmart.com that will show you where.

I'm 99% certain it's on the bend as you enter Poinciana from Pleasant Hill Road (ie turn right out of Poinciana Boulevard, onto Pleasant Hill Road). Don't forget you've got the Winn Dixie and Publix there too!

Thanks Blott and CDV. I did try the Walmart site put it was not listed[msnsad]

Blott, is it just after the bridge just before Cypress Parkway? I want to add it to the maps I send out which have Publix and Winn Dixie on them (As well as The Nature Conservancy's Disney Preserve, Boggy Creak Airboat Rides and the Osceola Scholls Environmental Study Center)

Poinciana Boulevard has so much to offer[msnsmile2]

Yes, I think so. That's where the sign was saying the new store was coming anyway.

It does indeed have a lot to offer Karen, including both of us, but you've forgotten Horse World Riding Stables and Green Meadows Petting Farm!

I think you will find it is behind Wynn Dixie Supermarket. It was just a shell last time we were there in April. They must have worked hard to get it open so soon.

If anyone goes to it please let us know how it compares to the one up on the 192.

Elaine

The old Walmart is only 1 mile from Terra Verde, trust me you will take all day to get around it. If you go straight out of the resort, take the next right and it is at the end of the road on the right (opposite Medieval Times)

Have a great time in Tera Verde, I own a villa there and will be going on 18th September

Blott, silly of me missing out the these[msnoo][msnsmile2]

"It does indeed have a lot to offer Karen, including both of us, but you've forgotten Horse World Riding Stables and Green Meadows Petting Farm!"

I shall tell all my guests about it as I am sure it will be every bit a popular as the one on the 192![msnoo]

We have a villa on Eagle Pointe which is 5 mins from the 192 on the Poinciana Boulevard. How far is this Walmart compared to the one on the 192 and is it worth the extra distance to travel there?

I too would be intersted in this as we are at EP too, If it has just as much stuff but less crowds then it would be worth a couple more miles[msnwink]

Karen

Pieman & Stabard, our villa is near Horse World and it only takes us 10 minutes to get to the 192, so I expect it will only take you a couple of minutes more.

It is well worth wandreing down the other end of Poinciana Boulevard as there is lots of natural Florida to see![msnsmile2]

We will be staying on Indian Point. How far will Walmart be from there? and any directions would be appreciated. Many thanks:)

Hi Pluto

Indian Point is one of the closest communities to the old Walmart, it is next door to Terra Verde. From what I have read on the new one it is at the bottom of Ponciana bouleard, towards Doral Woods? Is this right? Beside Orange Blossom Trail? I am just presuming here.

It's actually in Poinciana Michele so you turn right at the end of Poinciana Boulevard (see above for directions).

We ended up in Poinciana last time and its about 10 miles away from Eagle Pointe/Indian Pointe. Is this where the Walmart is?

Why have they got a new Walmart on Poncianne Boul when there is a massive one right on 192 very near this road. Am I getting confused or is this the same Walmart? We also have a villa on Terra Verde and used to use either the Walmart of Public on 192. Both are very near. The Public was the only one that sold English Newspapers so my husband would go there to get a paper to get football results, and I wanted to know who had been evicted from Big Brother (I know it is sad but necessary).

I want to buy a George Foreman BBQ on the internet as I keep getting asked if I have a BBQ from enquiries. We are not allowed Gas BBQ or charcol on the pool deck so I thought that this would be the best thing. It says on the internet site that you can have the BBQ delivered to a Walmart Store but I do not know the actual address of the store in question. Can anyone help? My sister in law is going out to our villa in early October and can pick it up.

We bought a Big George Foreman grill direct from the manufacturer complete with stand as we looked everywhere for this model and could only find the grill and no stand. Cost us about US$170 complete inc delivery.

Could someone give me some directions from Terra Verde please

Karen
03-09-2004, 22:46
Jayboy4444, you turn left out of Terra Verda onto Poinciana Boulevard, keeping going south past Crescent Lakes, Doral Woods, Countryside Manor and Horse World. You will then come to the junction with Pleasant Hill Road, turn right here. You will go over a small bridge, then come to another junction where you take the right hand turn (your right of way) onto Cypress Parkway. On the left you will see Winn Dixie, and just behind that is the new Walmarts.

I spoke to my guests who are in our villa at the moment and he told me where it is and said it was great. There is even a Publix opposite the Winn Dixie, so you are spoilt for choice!!

Incedentally if you do not turn onto Cypress Parkway but carry straight on you will get to The Nature Conservancy's Disney Wilderness Preserve, which is well worth a look[msnsmile2]

But it's currently closed due to hurricane damage from Charley I'm afraid until mid September.

We bought our George Foreman electric BBQ Grill on legs from amazon.com. It was only $49 instead of over $100 and it is lovely.

Unfortunately our MC no longer cleans BBQ's as he has had so many problems with the terrible mess etc so we have not left it out at the moment.

Karen

Susan B, no it is not the Walmarts near Medievel times that is new, it is one in Poinciana[msnsmile2]

blott
06-09-2004, 02:30
The Medieval Times Wal-Mart is near marker 14 if that's what you mean? There are no markers on Poinciana Boulevard, only on some of the 192.

FAO Blott: Poinciana Boulevard which junction is the Q&A I was askin 4 as a lot of confusion in reference 2 walmart on 192. I know where this 1 is but not Poinciana Boulevard Walmart?

blott
06-09-2004, 15:08
The Poinciana Wal-Mart is actually in the town of Poinciana which is not on Poinciana Boulevard but you can take this road to get there.

To get to Poinciana Boulevard, you turn at the junction of the 192 with RV World and Perkins on the corners (it's signposted Poinciana). When you're on Poinciana Boulevard, you carry on to the traffic light junction with Pleasant Hill Road (second set of traffic lights, not counting the ones outside Poinciana High School) and turn right onto Pleasant Hill Road, follow the road across a bridge and around a corner and the new Wal-Mart is behind the Winn Dixie on your left.

From the US192 im sure it will be a minimum 20 min drive. It took us 20 min to drive from Eagle Pointe to Poinciana last time we were over.

blott
06-09-2004, 16:48
You must have been driving really slowly then Pieman as Poinciana Boulevard is only 14 miles from the 192 to Poinciana!
