It doesn't matter how close the Walmart is for me, I'd quite happily walk there but I always need a car to carry my purchases back.:D:D

Lake Berkley right next door, you could wheel your trolley back from the store!

In order of nearest to the 24 Wal-mart on the 192, (next to Medieval Times.)

Bass Lakes
Creekside
Lake Berkley
Indian Point
Eagle Point.

These are all within a 15 minute walk. I'm sure other owners in communities on Poinciana blvd can confirm how far they are away.

Alternatively , walking distance to the new Walmart on us 595

Indian Wells.

Speaking as one of the above I can confirm that but the time of year would also make a difference as I would not walk it in the humidity of the summer months - Also I always end up buying way too much stuff to carry:D

Thats me, I decided to walk to the new Wal-mart on the 27 when we were there in May
only needed a few items thought the walk would do me good
I really enjoyed the walk 10 minutes I was there
One hour later I realised I had to much shopping to walk back, I had to ring Bruce to pick me up
when he arrived he said I knew if you came out of Wal-mart with one bag it would be a miracle

We are on Eagle pointe (10-15 min walk) and it has been known for some of our guests to walk to Walmart and get a Taxi home as they are unable to carry eveything they have purchased.

Wal-mart just outside the gated community of Southern Dunes. Open 24/7 except for christmas day. Well worth checking out.[msnsmile2]

I think almost all villas on these sites are within a 10 minute drive of a Walmart store! I wouldn't walk either as I always buy too much - even when I don't intend to [msnsmile2]

Communities within walking distance of the new Walmart on the 27 are High Grove which is across the road, Woodridge, Clear Creek and Silver Creek which are next to it - but as has been said I need a car each time I visit Walmart because I end up with too many things [msnwink]

Just want to point out that in fact, and I know it may sound dumb, but removing a shopping cart from the parking area is a CRIME. I would hate to have someone approached and have their vacation ruined by some well meaning security guard.

Esprit now is very close to the one on the 27, I should know, I spent most of my time at the Villa in May in it!

If you are looking West of Disney then High Grove and Cleer Creek are the two nearest the NEW Walmart on the US-27 just north of it''s junction with the US-192. Nice Walmart this one well set out and not as packed as others so a great area to choose for your vacation.

Winward Cay is within a 5-10 minute walk of walmart on the 192 near Medieval times.

Nobody really walks anywhere in the states though do they?

Greater Groves is under a mile from the new Walmart on Hwy 27.

Hi all! Villas of Somerset is approx. 1 mile from the new Walmart on the 535/Poinciana Blvd. junction. It is also about 3.5 miles from the old known and loved Medieval Times Walmart on the 192.

Like others who have posted on this thread - I wouldn't really recommend walking to Walmarts - you would never carry all your purchases home! Also could be too many major roads to cross along your chosen route (ouch!)[sporty]

Cumbrian Lakes off Poinciana is literally only a couple of minutes drive away. Not sure how long to walk though.

Though a number of comunities are certainly a walk from the many Wal-marts around Orlando...just a thought...would you be able to carry ALL the purchases on the way home? [msnwink][msnwink]
Calabay Parc on the H27 sits nicely between both the Walmarts at Southern Dunes and the new one!! Why limit yourself to one? [msnwink]

Southern Dunes has one immediately outside the gates - so within walking distance. Which from Stuart's point of view is great as I cannot try and buy up the store as I can't carry it all back to the villa.

We are about a 10 minute drive from Wal*Mart but even if it was 2 mins away I could not walk back with all the purchases I make. I Need a pick up truck! 3weeks this weekend I shall be there stocking up ready for the holidays!:D

Would recommend Espirit. The houses there were always among my favorites.

We have just stayed at the Bass Estate Villas in Kissimmee. This is situated just off the 192 and is a five minute walk to Walmart.

Fantastic community....cant wait to return.
