Does any one out ther have Jamie Olivers Recipe for Slow Roast Lamb in red wine? My friend has requested I cook it for her for her birthday, and I can't fine the book anywhere. I think I must have lent it to a friend and never had it back. I have cooked it before but can't remember all the times etc. I think it's in his Jamies Dinners book. If all else fails I'll just have to buy another book!
Can anyone help......

Sorry Diane can't help you. But when you do find it would you mind posting it on the forum as it sounds delicious[msntongue]
Not sure if this is the one but it is called
Braised 5 Hour Lamb with Wine Veg and all that
1 large leg of lamb
salt and pepper
olive oil
6 rashers of streaky bacon
3 red onions
3 cloves of garlic
2 handfuls of mixed herbs
4 large potatoes
3 parsnips
1 bottle white wine
Preheat oven to 170/325
In a large casserole dish or deep sided roasting tin fry well s easoned lamb in a couple of gluggs of olive oil.
Add Bacon, onions, garlic and continue to fry for 3 more mins.
Throw in herbs and veg, pour over wine plus equivelant amount of water. Bring to boil and tightly cover with kitchen foil.
Bake in pre heated oven for 5 hours until tender seasoning the cooking liqor to taste.
To serve pull away a nice portion of meat with selection of veg and crusty bread to mop up gravy.
Looking at this again it says white wine not red so may not be the one you wanted, but hey sounds nice too [beer]
Asdas extra special lamb shanks are delicious and you would never know that you had not taken all day to cook them[msnwink]

Good old Delia does pretty much the same thing with red wine. I am not sure about cooking lamb with white wine!
Can you send me an invite when you make it? Sounds delicious.[msntongue]

This one is for a slow roast lamb and red wine - don't think it's Jamie Olivers though

Jan - the lamb was fantastic. Used red wine and it went down a treat. Will certainly do this recipe again. Thanks,
Diane
