View Full Version : Kelly Park, Rock Springs
This is a fantastic place for a relaxing day. It's a natural lazy river set within a state park where there are also 7 miles of hiking trails. You hire a tube just outside the park for $5 and then entrance to the park is approx $1 per person. Ride your tube down the river and then walk up the boardwalk to the start. There is a shallow pool for swimming and sand to play in in the middle. They have shelters with BBQ sites so take your meat and charcoal and make a whole day of it. There are children's playgrounds and volleyball pitches. To get there go up 429 to Apopka, then turn right on the 441 and left on Rock Springs Road (cant remember what its called that end, think its the turning after Central Avenue)and then turn right at the end.
Would second that - we have been here too and it was lovely and relaxing. Also did not break the bank [msnsmile2]
Sounds great Chris, will look it up for our next trip [msnsmile]

It is a really relaxing day out. People can ride on the tube with babies also as they can sit on their parents tum. We saw some doing it and they were loving it. Great in the winter months also as the temperature hardly changes all year.

sounds like somewhere me and hubby Steve would like to go... we both thoroughly enjoyed the 'lazy river' at discovery cove in september and both really enjoyed this as we havent ever done anything like this before, we went to do it again but bottled it.... am looking for other places like this if there are anymore please....:D[msncool]
