View Full Version : Festival Bay
Has tis mall ever properly got off the ground. I remember all the pizazz surrounding its opeining in 2002 (I think) but since then whenever we have visited it has been ghostly quiet with many units unsold.
Is it because of the Mall of the Millennia being so near?
It did open, and there is also a Ron Jon's shop as part of the development along with a multi-screen cinema. Still a few places boarded up, although this may have changed now that Beltz has been re-incarnated as Prime 1. They may get more passing trade.
Last i heard, was the surf park had been delayed till 2009, it may then not even go ahead. [msnsad]
there was an article about the ron jon surf park searched for and it was not financially viable pity really good location and looked to be a great ride

I went to Festival Bay last week and it was very quiet, with many units out of use, which is a pity cos its an undercover mall with air conditioning, which was fantastic after wandering through Prime Outlets in the scorching sun.

To look at both inside and outside it looks great but it doesnt have many shops in my opinion.
They did do a great Father Christmas for the kids a few years ago.
Personally we much prefer the outlets.

We always go there for the Bass Pro Shop...
I did look into opening a shop there selling European furniture and things I can resell from my local area at a higher price in FL...but its really not worth it at this time..
It is a nice place..but just not enough people stay..and only a few shops are that interesting..
