Anyone have an idea of how much under 25's pay for hiring a car? And where is this payable - before you travel or locally?

Thanks,

Andy

There is a link at the top of this page for car hire, Would have thought you would have to pay when you make the order

Heres what it says

Rental requirements:
Renters must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid UK driving licence, drivers under 25 years old are subject to an additional fee. The rates are available only when pre booked from the UK. All rentals include unlimited mileage. The CreditCard Holder must be the main driver.

If you have a look, im sure you will be able to find the info you
are after

As far as I know, it's $25 a day and I don't know of any car rental company in Florida that doesn't charge this same amount.

Try www.skycars.com they have some good deals with Budget where they don't charge the extra for being under 25. I'm only 22 and planning on using them when I go to florida in october.

Craig have just been on their website and its states

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED fuel/ additional drivers (included in California and Nevada) / baby seats/ one way fees where applicable/ under age driver surcharge. This might mean under 25s
would e-mail them and double check just to make sure.

I have just looked again and the Budget price I always look on says:

Not Included:fuel/ child seats/ one way drop charges where applicable/surcharge for drivers 21-25 years in Hawaii only.

and I'm not planning on taking it over to Hawaii:)

I see what you were looking at now; they give quotes for more than one of the rental companies and I think Alamo still charge the excess but if you scroll down the page to budget quote, then they don't

Thanks for all the replies!

I had a look on Budget's website, and in their "Location Rental Information" for Sanford Airport it does say that there may be a surcharge for young drivers and to contact them. But it also says minimum age is 25 :(

Ah well, no car it is!!

If you book through budgets website then you will still have to pay the surcharge, but if you book through the website you mentioned then you don't.

Craig,

Which website are you thinking of? You posted what I assume to be a website earlier in the topic but it just looks like 3 asterisks to me?!

I went to Budget.co.uk, filled in thier "Quote Me" section and then was guided to read the terms and conditions, which I'm sure said that it was 25+ only.

Thanks!
