1 week and counting and I`m beginning to get worried that I will not have enough memory on my digital camera for all my photos. Memory only holds about 100. So the question is does anyone know if it is easy enough to take card to a shop and get them to burn the images onto cd for me to extract when I get back.
Or what prices can I expect over there?
Wal-Mart offer both options you mention, both at reasonable prices........

Or you could make the most of the very good prices in Florida and buy an extra memory card or two :)

Yep.....Walmart was where we took ours!!!! Best to get 2 CDs done in caes of a disaster and you damage or lose one. Hate to see those memories get lost.
Actually talking about memory cards check out 7dayshop.com before you go and then compare while
you are out there
last year I did actually find them more expensive in Florida. The site above has weekly specials and once I got 3 64meg cards for £20, so its worth checking the site

Just for info - I got back last week and purchased a 256mb card for $69 plus a $10 mail in rebate - and a 512mb card for $139. I brought them from best buy on the just South of Florida Mall on the Orange Blossom Trail - but Circuit City also do them at about the same price ( also on OBT)

Not sure how others feel, but id rather have multiple 64meg cards so if a card goes wrong
I dont lose loads, if a 256 card went wrong you would lose a lot of piccies. for the sake
of swopping cards against protection, id go for swopping cards all the time
but thats my opinion
7dayshop have always been cheaper than any prices I've seen in Florida, they take about 7-10 days to deliver.
I went mad and bought an Archos GMini 220 mp3 player/digital storage device from Amazon in the USA (about £100 cheaper than buying it here!) it has a 20Gb drive and a built in Compact Flash reader so I can download my cameras 1Gb micro drive onto it and listen to 300+ hours of mp3s on the flight :D
Top Tip ................ Rechargeable Batteries
Tesco are selling Energizer 2100mAh AA NiMh batteries for £3.99 for 4, but when you get to the checkout they scan at £1.79! :D
Tesco always have a problem with their price batch updates :D
Just bought a 512MB 40x PQI Compact Flash card from ebuyer.co.uk for £69.21 (incl shipping). They are currently the cheapest on the net for this size card and can deliver the next working day (if in stock).
Took me a while to find it.
Spent the last week working out which new camera to buy then which media to use in it then where to buy them.
The Cameras folder in my Favorites is now overwhelmed with sites I've found offering good prices/reviews on digital cameras and accessories.
Then there's the compatability sites that show me whether different media has adverse affects on the camera I'm buying
Now I just have to wait for them both to arrive before working out how to use them ![msnsmile2]
