We will be in Florida in November, hopefully staying at Indian Ridge Oaks. can anyone recommend local restaurants worth a visit. When we were last in Florida we tended to use the one's at Celebration which we enjoyed . We would however like to try others this time around. We like everything from Fish to meat. Thanks.

Hi Yorky

It depends what you like... if you want a really nice steak.. Ronnie's Steakhouse on IDrive is fab!! or alternatively the Kobi, Japanese restuarant at marker 7 is really good value for money, they do an early bird which is great to catch on your way home from the parks.. Have a lovely holiday! :D

I'm wondering what sort are you looking for budget, deluxe or very local to where you are staying? There is a good thread going that has some mentioned, worth a look. http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=12390

[/quote]We would like something fairly local and don't mind paying a decent amount for a nice meal. Certainly not budget as there seems to be plenty of these just about everywhere. Thanks.

Charleys Steakhouse, opposite the Celebration water tower is very good.

You are very close to Celebration; you must go and eat there (at least once) or just visit, lots of good restaurants and a wonderful ambience to the experience.

We went to Charleys in May & the experience was totally ruined by a very over exuberant waitress! They are so in your face you cant enjoy the meal would not recommend. The Italian next door was very nice

Joolz, it's called Boston Garden and its next to Market Town tavern and yes the seafood is great. Its good in the Tavern as well.

I'm sorry the waitress spoiled Charley's for you Stevie but the food is excellent and we have always had good service.

If you look at this website www.wdisneyw.co.uk/photodolbzoo.html this gives all the restaurant menus even the takeaways prices etc. Its very good
We think the Rodeo on a Friday night at Kissimmee arena is very good

For budget meals you cannot beat Denys and the one at Haines County, on Highway 27, just before the turn off for highway 4 and after Westridge is excellent. Service really good and the food cooked really well. We also had some really nice meals at St Augustine in the old town - well worth the visit.

Tonight we ate at the chinese at the Mall at Millenia - P F Changs, http://www.pfchangs.com/cuisine/menu_main.jsp

Food was very good, best Chinese we have had so far, and DB was brought up in Hong Kong so is fairly fussy!

We had lettuce wrap (v good), spring rolls, mongolian beef (excellent, shrimps in chillies (don't make the mistake I did of mistakingly biting into one [msncry]), shrimps in honey, chicken chow mein and spinach. Meal was about $85 which seems excellent value including a couple of beers, a glass of Italian wine, san pellegrino and sodas.

Bahama Breeze on I Drive is fab! The one on the 535 was not so good though....

I Second Bahama Breeze on I Drive.

We like to sit outside and order plates of starters-they are huge and we just dive in.

Pina colada bread and butter pudding is to die for-usually we are so full after all the plates of startes-that only my son in law orders one. He doesn't get much of it though with 4 spoons attacking it-lol!

Don't fancy inside though-far too chilly!

If you are on IRO/Lindfields and fancy a quicke-Ace Plus China Buffet is excellent. $9-99 for all you can eat-and there's loads of choice.

Great when you are shattered and just can't be bothered to wait in other restaurants-hence the quickie-lol!

Orlandobabe, Chinese sounds good, where exactly is it? I love Chinese and although there are some good restaurants I haven't found a chinese buffet I like yet.

I stayed at Indian Ridge Oaks last year and found it very handy for Disney. There are some decent restaurants but you need to drive back up Lake Wilson road to Hwy 192.

In the immediate vicinity of 192 and Lake Wilson rd you have a very good Perkins, a decent Outback steakhouse, the good old IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and if you fancy a "Buffet" all you can eat restaurant I would highly recommend the Golden Corral above Shoney's (which are both very close) TGI Fridays is also quite close.

I would also suggest you head towards International Drive for "Fishbones" - absolutely fantastic food, although slightly pricey compared to other restaurants around there.

Finally if at Universal you should try Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (and don't let them put you upstairs as the real atmosphere is downstairs)

Celebration is great but I'd recommend "restaurant row" on Sand Lake Dr. It's off I-4 ( not toward Internatl Dr....the other way). There are fabulous restaurants for every taste! Give it a try!

I would recommend The Boston Lobster Feast if your into Seafood - it has a pretty decent menu apart from that but the seafood is the thing to go for. Pricewise, if I remember rightly it's around $30 for the buffet. It's on the 192 next to Water Mania or on the OBT near the Florida Mall.

By contrast you can always fill up at the Ponderosa Steakhouse for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Again, it's "all you can eat" but is something around $8-9 or so for dinner. There are Ponderosas in several places, we use the one opposite Old Town on the 192.

I Would now recommend Fionis Italian resturaunt right by Charlies Steak house across the street from Celebration. The food was very very good, service was excellent. There dishes start from many antipastas, to pasta dishes to meat dishes. Prices were also very reasonable.

Hi, we went in may (4 adults, 2 kids 13 and 7) I would second the chinese buffet by the Lindfields area, next to La Quinta hotel, we went there twice in the two weeks we were there, the buffet had many choices and also quite a bit of choice for pudding:) We were stuffed and well pleased with the $80 bill for the six of us;) We did say my son was 12 and not 13:D

Try the Golden Coral buffet on the 192 not too far on the left past Walmarts heading east .Plenty to choose from inc fresh baked bread /pizzas /cakes ,just listen for the bell ringing when the ovens are being emptied .The food is good and plenty of choice inc steak/chicken /meatloaf to say but a few .Now I feel really hungry and will have to wait till Sept the 18th when we go out again ,I will be there for sure on the day we arrive .[8D]
