    Holiday question after the hurricane

    Hi

I am going on holiday to Florida for two weeks, staying at the sheraton vistana villages. I am bit concerned on the devastation left by the hurricane on the surrounding area. what damage has been done is everything back to normal ?

    please help

Everything is back to normal for those of us on holiday in the Orlando area.
You may see signs of the damage done to landscaping but the clean up operations have been very good and tourists are not affected by anything.

I think that things are getting pretty much back to normal, power on etc etc.

Clearly some people have suffered some loss and damage to property etc which will take longer to recover from.

I spoke to some friends of ours this week who live in Orlando and they report that everything seems ok.

    All the Park are open

Apart from a few signs down you may not even notice anything amiss.

Can't say I have heard any reports back from guests, and friends just back, that Orlando was "Devastated" in anyway? Mostly it was phone, electricity being out and miner damage to roofs etc, I think some trees were up rooted too,as far as I have been told Overall, the area was up and running pretty quick

We went to Orlando years ago after a major storm....the hotel had been under water 2 weeks before......apart from the one part they'd not got round to painting..you would never have guessed anything had happened........

I am in Florida at the moment and it is not totally back to normal. There are still places without power and lots of debris to be cleared up. You will not see it in the tourist areas really, the traffic is heavier and eatiries and hotels are fuller beacuase of the out of state workers coming in to help. On the Gulf Coast there is still very noticeable damage, flattened buildings etc. I will be posting some pictures when we get home next week.

I am also here in Florida and while there is still a bit of clean left things seem to be back to normal. Still dead trees lying around waiting to be cleared out. Signs on businesses still out, but other then that the hussle and bustle of Disney is still as wonderful as ever.

We are also in Orlando at the moment and although most things are back to normal 2 of our 'must do's' are closed due to damage - Golden Corral on 192(one of our favourite eateries) and the Airboat Self Drive on 192 is flooded.
