Depending on the age of your children I personally would head for the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party (young kids) at Disney or Universals Halloween nights (older kids).

It's not something we've done yet but someone in work did the Universal night just gone and enjoyed it a lot.
His pictures did show that the Universal one could be pretty scary though!!!

We did the Universal Horror nights this year and it was great fun. There were 7 special "houses" plus some of the rides and attractions open and for the first time ever it was spread over both theme parks.
It was very busy and we only managed to do 4 of the houses plus 3 or 4 rides. We got there early to avoid traffic and parking problems and ate at City Walk before we went in.
The special effects are quite intense and not really suitable for young children, but for adults with "staying power" it is a must in my opinion.

These parties previously mentioned are ticket only events, so if you are not able to get tickets, a good compromise is to visit Pleasure Island.

We went this year on Halloween, and loads and loads of peeps dressed up in the most amazing costumes. It was a great atmosphere and a lot of fun.

Busch Gardens is also well known for it's Halloween events but these are apparently more scary than the Universal ones.

I screamed myself silly at Universal, especially when I was Chased by a man with a "chainsaw", I don't suppose I was really frightened just high on atmosphere and adrenalin, Busch Gardens must be something else, it will be on my list for next time we go at Halloween[msneek]<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by blott

Definately worth a visit to Busch for Halloween, in fact well worth the trip at any time of year. My sons favourite park.[msnsmile2]

We went to Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom this October. It was great would definatley recommend it especially for young children. We've still got sweets left over from the trick or treat bags!

We did the Mickey Not so scarey this year and was well worth it. We walked onto to all the rides. One word of warning make sure you get dressed up as all the Americans do and we felt odd one's out.

We also did the MNSSHP this year - and our kids loved it too. The Americans do get dressed up, but in Disney theme and pretty, fairytale costumes - not like our two who were into blood and gore and frightened the little ones with their costumes! If the costumes are colourful enough and you time your entrance to the park just right, your kids could get chosen to ride in the parade and the parents get to stand in the VIP area to watch them.

We have also been to Seaworld where they have the Halloween Spooktacular weekends during October - no extra cost for entry, and lots of trick or treat stations and all the shows have a halloween theme and the park is wonderfully decorated with pirate skeletons and witches etc. It also takes on a completely different feel at night compared to wandering around in the day. Well worth a visit, especially if you have a Universal 4 or 5 park flexticket.
