Fantasy In The Sky (fireworks show)

When does Magic Kingdom announce the special days they are going to put on their fireworks show? I will be in Orlando in the 2nd week of May. Anybody know? Another question (this may sound dumb), which is better: Fantasmic or Fantasy in the sky?

If I remember correctly be on w/e only. Fantasmic is a very diffeent show to Fantasy in the sky. Try and see both if you can. You can get park opeing times from Disney.com

Fantasy in the Sky is a firework display behind Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom. Its very good and is orchestrated to the music of numerous Disney classics. It takes place every night (weather permitting) and is often the final event before the park closes.

Best spec is directly in front of the castle.

Fantasmic on the other hand is a show, although this description hardly does it justice.

Its set on a mountain in Disney/MGM Studios and involves Mickey fighting against his nightmares (the combined Disney villains). It includes live action, animation and fireworks and is definitely a MUST SEE part of your holiday.

Depending on when you go its on either every night or on selected nights during the week (weather permitting). Its also very popular and queueing starts around 1-1.5 hrs before showtime !

    Hope this helps

For Fantasy in the Sky seems much shorter in recent years? Still great to watch Tinkerbell 'fly' from the castle at the beginning of the show!

We always watch the show from the bridge that leads you to Tomorrowland, it's a little quieter here, and you get a great uninterrupted view. Tinkerbell also then 'flies' directly above your heads!

I read some where that Fantasty In The Sky is presented on special days. Whenever that is. I hope they do it when I'm there...I'm staying at the Magic Kingdom all day just to see it. Oh, my poor feet. We are definitely going to catch Fantasmic as well.
