    swimwear at wet'n'wild?

Hi everyone,i've found this site very informative while planning our holiday with some great hints and tips.I've just been reading that blizzard beach is closed when we go in 8 weeks time for our first trip. So i decided to check if wet'n'wild was open, it is thankfully but i noticed that it says 'Appropriate bathing suits required (no shorts, cutoffs or items with metal fasteners, rivets, zippers or buckles).' my husband and 5 year old boy always shorts with lace tie ups.Does this mean their going to have to wear speado's[:O]?

many thanks if any one can spread some light on this.

They can wear shorts, I have, but what they are afriad of is damage to the slides. So cut down jeans would have rivets on the back pockets that would cause the damage, as long as they have got normal swimshorts bought from M&S or the like there will be no problems.

Having looked at the website, I can see that the pictures do show swiming shorts as being worn, the boy on the first picture had them on, these don't usually have any zips etc to scratch or get caught in anything. Might be worth contacting them and asking if the ones with ties are allowed.[msnsmile2]

    Hi amyroper
your husband and son will be fine wearing shorts with lace ups, I brought my husband a pair of oneals surf shorts from their shop, so you will be fine. I always wear a bikini sometimes a swimsuits, but thats not often. AND NO SPEADO'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. All the family like wet n wild, their is many things your 5 year will like, I remember when my son was younger, there is a pool area for the children with spray guns and my husband was worst than the kids, he was squirting all the kids. Their is good facilities for changing, also with showers. You have to pay for the lockers, they were about $7 for the day, you have to leave a deposit. Their is numerous places to eat, one of my favourites is a funnel cake, LOVLEY. Well have a great time.

Careful on Bombay and Der Stuker if you are brave enough to try them. I wore shorts and as I hit the water, the velocity was so great that the volume of water that became trapped inside my shorts (nice image, I think not) split them all the way up to the waist band, so tie them good and tight!![msnembarrased]

Oh and the shorts they kindly replaced mine with were from their own shop and site and were longer than my own, so no Speedos required TG.

Curious? Is Typhoon Lagoon shut at the same time? That would be unusual if it is and they have the new Crush and gusher ride there[8D] Was there something special you wanted to go on at Blizzard?

Hi Amy - just one thing to consider - swimming shoes - we found the paths at wet and wild very rough and hot on your feet - you can buy very reasonably priced swimming shoes at walmart - just something to consider.
