Hi am staying in Windsor Palms, Im hoping to order some things of Amazon.com and a few other sites that dont normally ship to Europe.
Would it be a problem to get them to ship to the Villa? Do these properties normally get mail delivered? thanks for your help!

If you're purchasing stuff with a UK credit card, just be aware that some websites don't accept them and will only accept US issued credit cards. Best check with Amazon first I would think.

Depends... some do have mail delivery facilities and some don't. I would have thought it would be best to check with the home owner first and, if their home doesn't have mail delivery facilities, ask whether their management company will accept deliveries for their home. You could then pick up the items from the management company office if they agree to this.

We've purchased quite a few things from Amazon.comn with our UK credit card - no problems at all. They will ship to your UK address without any problem.

Before I went to Florida in March/April, I ordered some lake golf balls from a US based website (about 40% cheaperr than the UK) that would only ship to US or Canadian addresses. I asked the permission of the villa owner long before doing it and was advised that most companies will not ship to a STL (short term let) villa address. We were lucky enough that the MC (Florida4Sun on this website, thank you Martin) allowed us to have them mailed to his address and dropped them off for us, ask and you never know - the owners on here are friendly and very accomodating (excuse the awful pun!!) there are generally ways and means - but I would check that it is OK with the owner first

Sorry but you WILL have problems unless Amazon deliver by a courier service. I own two homes on Windsor Palms and they are VERY STRICT about parcel/mail deliveries. If the home you are staying in actually has a mail box at the house, you should be fine (you will need to check with the owner). In saying this, my sister in law ordered a toy for her son that she couldn't get over here and because it was couriered to us in Florida while we were there, it was delivered without problem.

The problem with companies like Amazon is that they can't give you a specific delivery day/time and if you are not at the front door when they arrive they will not and cannot deliver on Windsor Palms without a mail box.

Sorry if this spoils any plans, do check with the owner of the home you are staying in though to see if they do have a mail box (most of us overseas owners don't though!)

Having bought a region 1 portable dvd player for Xmas for my daughter I quite often order dvds from amazon.com and they are delivered to my uk address with no problem, the last delivery arrived 2 weeks before 1 that I'd ordered from amazon.co.uk on the same evening.
They won't deliver video games to the UK for some reason though.

The main problem will often come when you put credit card details in, some will only let you ship to a UK address, or sometimes the registered credit card holder or authorised user has to be there for delivery.

All houses on Hampton Lakes have mail boxes Karen, they were put in by the builder and we do get our mail delivered there with no problem. I know it's sad but I always enjoy getting mail over there even if it is only junk mail most of the time. It also makes it easier when we send postcards as we can just put them in the mailbox (if they've got the correct stamps on), lift the red flag and the mailman picks them up on his rounds.

I don't know about mail deliveries in Orlando villas, but I have used all three (Visa, Amex, Mastercard) of my UK cards with Amazon.com and a variety of other online dealers and small businessmen in USA and Canada without the slightest problem. They deliver to your UK address, but it will cost the shipping of course. But I discovered that with many things (outdoor gear for example) the cost difference between the US and Uk is so great that the American version turns out to be cheaper even after shipping, customs and local tax. And you get a much bigger choice over there.
