Sounds terrible!!!
Will always be a problem in a gun culture
I've yet to see a gun in the USA...apart from on a cop...in England I saw more than my fairshare.....you are just very unlucky if you come across guncrimes in the USA...or in the wrong part of town...
We were holed up in a hotel in Mancester years ago because of guys running around with guns...
Must have been frightening to witness.
My first visit to Orlando was in 2003 and we decided to stay in a Disney Resort Hotel. The main reason for this was that I felt more secure and safe staying in the whole big Disney bubble! But I have to say that as soon as we arrived I had no fears and began to feel right at home(didn't even mind getting lost a few times).
I guess bad things can happen anywhere, at home or abroad.

You'r right Tracey, I always feel as safe if not safer in Florida than I do at home.....

Shortly before that terrible tragedy in London on 7/7/05 I had walked past the bus stop where so many were injured & lost their lives. Safety is an issue every where in the world these days, sadly.
i'm afraid i believe when your time is up its up and no matter where you are and what your doing, if its your turn then......................
am so sorry and sad for people that lose loved ones so unexpectedly with no chance to say goodbye, even if they are the "bad guys"
