beautiful place to spend the day

    Kelly Park

'This 248-acre Orange County park is built around one of the Apopka area’s crystal clear springs. As its name suggests, Rock Springs bubbles up from a cleft in a rock outcropping and, instead of spreading out into a pool, becomes a swiftly running stream that quickly slows to a meander. The activity of choice here, and the major reason for the park’s obvious popularity, is riding down the stream in an inner tube or on a float.'-was free but may be thinking of charging north of orlando on EKelly Park Rd Apopka

We went to Kelly park last year. The tubes cost and you have to buy them before you enter the park - as we found out later

If you're going there, when you pass a shack advertising tubes, stop and get one as this is the only place to rent them.

You can actually swim down the same bit of water as they tube - we did it as we had no tubes. It is quite shallow and even walkable.

Re-Winter Park-you can even attend Weight Watchers there! There's a class on Thursdays at 5-30pm!

If you wanted a real lazy day-you could get a train there. The train stops right opposite the squirrel park and you could pick it up in Kissimmee

    Saves on the driving!

    Ooops !!!!
Ive just put a new topic on about this place, can't rave enough about it, its brilliant and costs next to nothing, if you dont want to use the hire tubes on the roadside, then just bring your own and blow them up when you are there. We also take BBQ stuff as there are BBQ's dotted about the park, there is a private (man made) little beach there which the younger kids love.

We did the Lakeridge Winery tour and really enjoyed it. Inevitably you end up buying some wine, but it is nice to get some of the local wine.
