    clothes shopping

    Dear all,

Can anyone tell me whether the clothing for ladies and children are noticeably cheaper in Orlando and whether they have the same fashion/quality as in the uk? I thought that we could maybe find some nice things to bring back. Has anyone got any shops/shopping outlets that they recommend and does anyone know of any places to pick up the real bargains?

Also I read somewhere that there is a Disney shop outside of Disney where things are much cheaper. Does anyone know where this is?

Last but not least my husband is 6 foot 6 and has great difficulty in finding clothes that fit. Does anyone know the best places to look for that type of clothing?

Thank you again for all your help.

    Mark and Tracy.

HI MArk and Tracy, you can try Walmart, Target, Florida Mall, The Loop. There are just so many clothing shops all offering bargain prices and name brands you will go crazy just trying to keep your wallet in your pocket. My son is also 6.3 and have no problems finding him clothes or shoes! Happy shopping

The clothes are often quite a lot cheaper especially when there are sales.
There is a Disney shop at the Premium Outlets near Dixie Stampede where you can get some items a lot less.
The other clothes stores there often have good bargains as well.

I have had a lot of good buys at The Orlando Fashion Square mall which is just off Colonial Drive and of course many people like Forida Mall at the junction of OBT and Sand Lake Road.

Shopping around can be lots of fun and there are plenty of bargains to be found.

The 6' 6" husband could be sorted for casual apparel at Foot Locker who always stock the taller/larger sizes. My theory is because they cater for the basketball players. But there is also a specialist chain for taller people and I must be having a senior moment because the name evades me just now. I will get back to you when i think of it.

    Happy Shopping [msnsmile2]

    Hi Mark and Tracy,

The Florida Mall and the Mall at Millenia are both great for clothes shopping. The Mall at Millenia has some of the more expensive shops like Burberry, Dior, Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton where as the Florida Mall has, amongst others, some great department stores such as Macys, Saks, Sears and JC Penny.

We also like the Premium Outlets, which is by Dolly Partons Dixie stampede, we just love the Puma and Skechers shops there and always come home with far too many trainers !!!!

There are also plenty of luggage shops round, so if you find that you doo buy too much you can always get another suitcase to bring it all back home !!

A subject dear to my heart as i am 6ft3 and 17st shopping in Orlando is fantastic. One of the best places for real bargains is the Lake Buena Vista Outlets as this has one of my favourite stores the VF outlet this store has both male and female sections and everthing is 50% off the lowest ticketed price. Major brands like Lee and Wrangler and jansport are stocked. There is also a Gap store and an Old Navy also the Big Dog T shirt store is worth a look.

Also with the exchange rate so much in our favour its worth looking at the big department stores at the malls as they also have great sales (Macys have a discount card for visitors that gives an additional 11% off)

Florida Mall and Premium Outlets are my firm favourites.
I know you have young daughters so you will love shopping at Little Me in the premium outlets for them. The Timberland and Nike stores are my husbands favourites.

We find the Premium Outlets one of the better places to shop for clothes, however they are presently doing up the Belz outlet and renamed it Prime.
We have found that what you pay in dollars in Florida, you would pay the same amount in pounds back home in the UK, so with the current exchange rate it is almost half price.

We love Limited Too in Florida Mall as my daughter can always get stuff to fit there. Being skinny/wide/tall/short is not a problem in the US they do far more sizes and it is the same in shoes too. Width fittings are more common than at home
