    Chocolate truffle tower cake

Well, if you have tasted this you will know what I am on about.

We went to the cheesecake Factory for lunch yeterday and afterwards we decided to share some cake, I had spied this cake on the way in and was won over by how tempting it looked. We had one piece between us and still came home with half of it, I have tried to give it another go and still have half of the left over piece left. If you like chocolate this is the one for you, it's amazing!!

Jean hs just recently been diagnosed as diabetic, so such trips are out now as we can't really go in to such establishments & me have the works with her looking on
We did go in to girendelli's 2 weeks ago, but I compromised an only had a Vanilla shake whilst Jean had a coffee (drink)
    [I did have a double scoop though - don't tell Jean[msnembarrased]]

    Oh it was!

Went back to the Cheesecake Factory but was sensible this time and shared a slice of Key Lime Cheesecake after our lunch and we managed to finish it all.

Mizzy I will see if I can find a picture!

Ian that's a pity but I know what you mean though it would not be fair[msneek]

No reason why not, its all about quantities and compensating. My daughter is type 1 and has upto 7 injections per day. She manages to have treats. Obviuosly a whole portion is out of the window but you do not need to miss out.
I couls just do a Gs milkshake[msntongue] (of to fridge to mafacture my own).

[/quote]Quite right Martin, it's certainly not completely the end of life as we understand it.

You can still have treats but not every day and it's best to have them after a meal rather than on an empty stomach so that the sugar gets absorbed into your blood stream more slowly. Chocolate cake for breakfast would therefore be out but after a meal is fine.

Being diabetic is about eating a healthy diet, the same as everyone else should be eating although with low salt, sugar, fat and higher in carbohydrates. If you check out the Diabetes UK website http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to-...nd_eating_out/ you'll see what we're talking about.
