    Las vegas restuarants

Off to Las Vegas in March. It was back in 1987 when I last went there and I am sure there will be lots of changes. Just wondering what the restaurants are in Vegas. Do they have the same ones as In Florida like Outback, Perkins, Dennys, Bennigans or do they have different ones. I know there is a Hard Rock and Planet Hollywood, although do not think they were there 20 years ago. I cant really remember the places I went to then, although I can vaguely remember some buffets for 99 cents!

We stayed downtown for a few days and on the strip for a few days last March and I don't remember seeing those restaurants. Maybe if you drive out a bit you would find them, I'm not sure, we never ventured far! By the way, when we were there it was kinda cold so take a jacket with you!! I didn't because I expected heat in the desert!

Don't think there are many of these restuarants on the strip - but I'm sure if you go a little of the strip you will find them.

We've never made it off the main drag to eat as there are too many places to choose from on the strip itself [msntongue]

The only place you'll find on the strip that resembles Orlando eateries is in the shopping centre near the Wynn Hotel, which has Taco Bell and the like.

There is a Starbucks in New York New York Hotel, would recommend the Italian resaurant in there too.

If you're big eaters go for the buffet meals in the hotels, I like the one in the Mirage, but there's plenty to choose from.

Eating out in Vegas is fantastic!!

Be carefull with the buffets. Cheap ones are nasty and are full of rubbish food.

You will notice a huge change from 1987 most of the hotels of that era no longer exist and have either been rebuilt or something new is in its place.

There is a Starbucks and a krispy kreme outlet in TI.

I have always loved Vegas and felt very safe on the Strip at any time of day or night.

I really hope you have a fantastic time.

All the usual chains are there but the strip is a long road. Denny's is at 1826 Las Vegas Blvd (the strip).

    Hi Tracey

We are going out there in March too. I did wonder what the weather would be like, only having been there before in the summer and also in september - both very hot!! I'm glad Gwen advised to take a coat - I shall make sure all of us do!!

We ate in numerous restaurants when there each time - holidays are not for cooking!! - and found some great places. We went to Mama Joe's which is a lovely Italian restaurant (not on the Strip). I can find out the address if you like. We also found many of the hotels had lovely restaurants inside. There is a Bahama Breeze in Vegas, which we intend to visit this time, not having been there before. There is an Olive Garden there too. There is a great Chinese in either Excalibar or Alladin - I can check this out too - and we loved the food and the atmosphere there. Not expensive either.

I hope you have a great time. Are you staying in a hotel or villa?
    Francine
