    WINE

    Hi Folks,

I was just wondering if any of you wine drinkers have any recomendations? We would normally be red drinkers and although I have never really bothered with wine from the states I am willing to give them a try. I wouldn't want to cause any bad feeling now would I?[msnwink]

Anything from the Cakebread cellars is awesome, some of the better Disney eateries will stock bottles http://www.cakebread.com.

My hubby is a great drinker of Californian Merlot. he is not home at the moment or no doubt he could bore you to death with his choices[msnwink]
Stone Cellars is one of the ones he looks out for in Florida.

There is a winery at LAKERIDGE WINERY AT CLERMONT you can taste the wine and buy some the RED SOUTHERN is to die for and some other ones are good ,
You cannot buy them in the supermarkets only at the WINERY well worth a rid to try some .

I can second that - we often take fiends there and take the tour - watch a short video of the history of the winery - take the walk through the processing area and then down to the wine tasting - approximately 6-8 wines including their own champagne!! -you can try before you buy!! and then get a discount if you buy some - their pink champagne is lovely - I like the Southern Red and the Southern white - also the Sunblush. worth the ride!! If you are a serious fan of wine I don't think the winery will be for you, but this is just my opinion but for a day out it's something different. I did not find one wine I would spend my cash on. My favourite tipple is champagne and the pink "champagne" there, I thought was horrid, the guys in Rheims would be horified

We normally go for the Caifornian wines but it's cheating I guess as when I ocassionally drink wine back home it's Ernst Julio Gallo but it is the same price in dollars as it is pounds! The Californian Brut is ok at a push but nowt like the real McCoy.

Thing is Paul because the prices are so reasonable you can afford to try a few..............dozen.[beer]

We have tried many (many, many) wines from the likes of Walmart, and had some very good 'finds'. You don't need to spend much money on a bottle of wine so it is worth trying. I am sorry cannot remember the names (again hubby might remember but he is not here).

I do remember one time we bought a litre bottle of red (a real 'cheapy') and it was the nicest we had tasted in a long time. We ended up getting that wine a few times.

We usually go for the Robert Mondavi or Ernst Julio Gallo but not the very cheapest (i.e. $5 per bottle).
