    13th birthday ideas?

Can I pick your brains please? My daughter will be 13 on 20th December, and I would like to do something a bit different for her and a group of friends. She has been working really hard at school and with her swimming training deserves a treat. As it is going to be so close to Xmas, probably Dec 22/23 I am struggling for ideas, looking for inspiration - anyone?

Fancy Dress party - with a theme -such as black and white or music or something un xmassy?
Depends how many friends really- are you looking at a disco or a few friends for meal etc
If you were hiring a room, you could do a lovely white and sparkly winter wonderland theme ?

it depends on the child really, my neice recently had a 14th with a pink limo trip to the pictures, the limo had music lights and such inside and after the movie it stopped for the kids to get pizza which they all devored whilst cruising home, there was a grown up minder (the dad) in the front, he said he had a great time, talked footie with the driver and the kids had a ball

he said it was a no hassle, no mess and no brainer sort of party, which i found extremely[laugh] as he's never done a party in his life, usually his wife runs around like a headless chicken whilst he talks footie in the bar in whatever kiddie friendly party place they happen to be using, same goes for at home parties the dads in the kitchen talking sport whilst the woman does all the work [msneek]

hey that sounds rather familiar [msnembarrased]

To extend the limo idea we have a local company that hires out a converted fire engine that seems to appeal to the girls more than the boys.

On a totally different theme we have a local airfield that allows people as young as 13 to have a trial flight with a qualified instructor. This is just a way of allowing people to do pleasure flights, which they aren't allowed to do anymore, but it also means that you get to pilot the plane once up in the air. [msneek]
They also allow you to take a couple of friends up with you - so it depends on how many friends you were thinking of inviting - and who knows, you could be setting her on her way to becoming a qualified pilot. [msncool]

How about waterski lessons at Swiss Fairways? Located about 3 miles west on H50 from H27.

We hired a local dry ski slpoe for Caitlins brithday earlier this year.

For 10 friends including the tuition it cost £70 and a great time was had by all. We also hired a coach to take all the girls to there and it had been done like a limo inside with screens, lights, leather seats and even a dance floor. It was certainly a day to remember.
