Laptop

Do many of you take your laptops with you- our villa has internet and wondered if it would be a good idea taking the laptop, just incase we need to check park times etc or get directions.
Plus can give trip reports!!

Does the villa have a PC as well as internet access? If it does I wouldn't personally bother with a separate laptop.

You might want to check with the villa owner if there is wireless access and whether you are allowed to connect to it (you'll need the SSID and likely a password but I am sure the owner will provide these if required)

We took our laptop when we went last year, the villa had wireless access and it also had its own laptop but as my son and daughter both had coursework to do whilst we were there it meant that they didn't have to be shut in the villa to work, they could take our laptop out on the lanai or work in their rooms if they wanted to. We had no problems taking the laptop as hand luggage we just had to take it out of its case when we went through security at both airports.

We have wireless internet access for our guests and our management provides all the details for access by the hub. It's always worth taking for looking things up.

Like SandJ we supply wireless Internet access with a password but ask guests to supply their own laptop; our guests do find this useful either for those who are self-empoyed or just need to keep in contact with their 'children' or elderly parents.

We offer a computer and also have wirelss access for those who prefer their own laptop. Its really a judgement thing how useful you think you will find it against having to carry it with you and keep it secure. The library offers free computer usage if you only want to check a couple of times and dont really feel you will need it too much . We always use it to check in online there as we can then print our boarding passes.

Beign purely selfish though I love reading peoples trip reports especially when I 'm not there so of course you should take your laptop

We have Wifi throughout the villa and they can get in the lania ,I take my laptop so we can book trips away when we have guests in and answer e-mail for our villa it is great as you have no need to a internet cafe and spend time away from the pool.

Taking your laptop also allows you to download your pictures on it every night and then get lots of space on your camera card to take new ones

It helps spending the time at the airport too: you can browse the internet or watch a movie, and on the way back you can look at all your pictures (do I sound obsessed here?

).
