Day 11 – and finally Orlando.
Why is it, when you have to get up, you sleep in……woke again to a glorious sunny morning and enjoyed just lounging in a king-size bed knowing I didn’t have to get up for work. [msnwink] But we did need to be out of the condo by 11am, so up at em![msnscared] Being good condo renters we stripped the beds and put the laundry in, to give the maid a head start and loaded the dishwasher with the breakfast pots and put that on to run.[msnsmile2]
Many years ago, in a previous life, I worked as a Housekeeper for a big hotel chain, it made me appreciate all the hard work the maids do, and amazed me at the mess some people leave behind. [msnmad] So we always try and leave things tidy to help them out.
As we drove off the island for the last time the Osprey was flying along side us – we just can’t get away from them![msnsmile]
The drive took us around 3 hours, but that included a slight de-tour through St Petes and over the Sky Bridge. This added about 30 mins onto the journey but the views from the Sky Bridge were worth it.[msnsmile2]
We arrived in Orlando and I felt like we were finally coming home. [msnwink] I was so excited to be back, to all our favourite restaurants and shops, I didn’t have to navigate anymore, and we found our way to the Celebration Hotel with out a hitch. [msncool]
When we were booking this trip we ummed and arred over so many different Hotels we tied our selves up in knots trying to decide. [msnscared] For 3 nights we felt it wasn’t worth hiring a villa but couldn’t decide where to stay.[msneek] We got a really good price for the Celebration Hotel. I was sceptical as it was so cheap, but it turned out to be correct and we got an absolute bargain.[msnwink] We had a room overlooking the lake, it was really nice, very comfortable, the furnishing are of a high standard and we had the most comfortable tripled sheeted bed![msnwink]
We will certainly be staying there again. After dropping off the bags, we had a wander down to the Market Street café for lunch, it really is so nice to be back. [msnsmile2] After a wander around Celebration we found a street market had set up selling arts and crafts, the local school had put on a jazz band and quite a lot of visitors had arrived creating a really nice atmosphere in the town.
We wandered back to the hotel for a shower and change, then off to Bahama Breeze for tea. Again, it didn’t disappoint, but it was really, really busy! Next time we will go earlier.[msnscared]
Over the next few days we managed to fit in some shopping at the outlet malls, [msnwink]a trip to Typhoon Lagoon,[msnscared] dinner at Mannys[msntongue] – OMG the food there is sooooo good! A quick scoot around wal- mart whilst waiting for a heavy thunderstorm pass,[msnoo] shopping at down town Disney, City Walk at universal and dinner at the Irish Restaurant in Celebration.[msnsmile] And we enjoyed every last moment. I can’t tell you why, but I really love Orlando and can’t imagine coming to Florida and not stopping off for at least a couple of nights.[msnsmile2] Finally our holiday came to an end. It was time to cram everything back into the suitcases on last time, but I had a trick up my sleeve.[msnwink]
The Jeans, trainers and some shoes went in my new “cabin si
