Will we ever relax?
There was some debate this morning about wether to breakfast in or out, home won and the order of the day was cereals toast and fruit. After breakfast we showered, made ourselves respectable and set off for Celebration via Publix for a fresh loaf.
Lesley offered to drive so I rode shotgun. We dropped Gez at church and she promised to light a candle or say a prayer for our heathen souls![msnembarrased]
We doubled back and stopped at Kissimmee guest services for our tickets then continued on into town which was the busiest I have ever seen it except for 4th July!
We popped into the Hello Kitty shop where I bought some goodies for my grandaughter and then joined a rather long queue at Starbucks. The seasonal "salted caramel mocha frappuchino" sounded different so I took a gamble and it was delicious![msntongue]
By the time we had stood inline for the drinks and spent a few moments looking out over the lake, soaking up the warm sunshine it was time to go and pick up Gez. We were surprised to find three sheriff's cars outside the church and thought that the Osceola county law enforcers must all be particularly devout Catholics but when a fire engine came racing up and discharged the paramedics we soon realised this was not the case!
My first thought was " crikey, I hope Gez is ok" , Lesley's first thought was, "I hope Gez keeps out of it, does she realise she's not licensed to practice over here and she will get sued!" that's Lesley, realistic as always and she's quite right, Gez is always the good Samaritan.
The church must be huge, as we stood waiting the crowds came pouring out and I got a little anxious as Gez failed to appear before the ambulance arrived but she had exited by another door and was most put out because she hadn't seen anything untoward going on. We had to drag her away, she would love to have been involved![msnoo]
Back at the villa we decided to grab some rays. With an east facing pool we have had two deck extensions, one gets the sun all day in the summer and one gets the sun all day in the winter, both have sun beds but we have our favourites and moved them into their winter home for the next three weeks........note to self, pool furniture could do with cleaning but than can be a job for myself and DH when he arrives![msnsad]
Pool is warming up slowly but still too cold for me although a hardier soul might be ok, it is now the same temp as the indoor pool at our local leisure centre. The engineer is coming tomorrow, he could have come today but we are not bothered about it enough to pay Sunday rates ( 3 x normal I am told!) If we had guests here then, of course, it would have been a different story.
Just getting settled with our cups of tea when our MC and his wife arrived so we spent an hour putting the world to rights about social care in the UK, long story but we both have elderly parents and mum has gone into respite whilst we are both away.
By the time they had gone it was 2 o'clock and was time for lunch Gez and I made salads and resuscitated the left over garlic breadsticks from last night! Ditto the Cinnapie!
We then lay on our sunbeds thoroughly full. I don't think we have reached full on relaxation mode yet as we were all up and down for the rest of the afternoon, skyping, emailing, phoning home and generally not really relaxing although Lesley did wake herself snoring at one stage![msnoo]
The sun was still on the deck but had lost its heat when we went in just after 4pm and once showered and changed we went out for a little light shopping. First stop Walgreens where we procured Dawn's and Mo's recommendations for Helen's cough, thanks ladies, it is early at the moment and still in bed but I will let you know how she went on.
Next stop, The Loop, we take Bed Bath and Beyond for granted but Lesley and Gez were fascinated by the amount of stock they carry. We emerged some time later with two bar stools ( DH to build when he arrives) and a very smart kitchen bin for the villa. Two Vidalia veggie choppers for me, I have broken mine and can't live without it.......sad I know......and my DIL wants one as well. Helen bought some clippy things, not quite sure what they were and Lesley bought her mum a shower curtain and hooks, "I've brought you a souvenir from my holidays mum........a shower curtain!" now that's original, I bet she doesn't get one of those from Tenerife and to my mind it beats the straw donkey and bottle of duty free hands down. [msnwink]
I! I do have to admit, it's a lovely shower curtain!
Michaels, Old Navy and Kohls saw our purchase tallies grow, totally forgot we needed to go to Vitamin World, the main reason for visiting The Loop, by which time it was shut and didn't have time for Ulta, Sephora or the book shop, all of which were on our list........oh dear what a shame, we will have to return![clap]
Dinner at BJ's Brewhouse saw three of us need boxes whilst Lesley manfully ( woman fully?) cleared her plate.
Back at the villa it was coffee and Baileys for those who wanted it, a steam inhalation for Helen and off to bed at a very impressive 11pm![zzz]
