We are off to Captiva for the 2nd week of our holiday and it might seem a silly questio but do you need to cross the Skyway Bridge to get there? I am really afraid of heights and it looks so scary!! mind you it wont stop me going I will close my eyes and hope for the best!!
If its not on the route to captiva wher does it dgo too?
Also any info on captiva welcome!

Like you I was (am) petrified of heights. Been over the Sunshine Skyway only once, around 4 years ago. My wife drove, I was in the back with a towel over my head! The video still raises much laughter with friends and family. The previous year we made a lenghty detour through Tampa from St Petes to Anna Marie Island just to avoid it. The in-laws were not impressed! You do not need to use the Skyway to get to Captiva, just stick to the I-75 off I-4 if you are travelling from Orlando. As for the Keys, some of the the bridges are much longer (basically its all just one long bridge) but nothing anywhere nearly as high. I drove all the way so it must be fine although I did kinda cure my fear a couple of years ago at the Grand Canyon. I reasoned it was a long (& expensive) way to go without taking in the view!!
