    High Speed Wireless Internet

Anyone found any hotels or locations that have free high speed wireless internet available?
I know parts of Orlando Airport has it. Also some of the higher class (expensive) hotels offer it.

Many of the villas on this site offer it free, included in the price of the rental.

"Also some of the higher class (expensive) hotels offer it."

And some of the even more reasonably priced villas offer it, (ours included). The last time we stayed in a hotel in London internet access and Playstation use worked out at something ridiculous like £6.95 an hour for each and my husband commented that maybe we were being too generous offering it free.

You do not need any software to use it - the wireless network card will search out available networks to connect to in any location and provided you are allowed access to the network, it will automatically make the connection and then you can just surk / send emails etc etc as normal.

Some wireless network access points require you to pay a fee like the one I used at Dallas Ft Worth airpot last week. Simply connect as above and fire up your web browser and it will take you automatically to the webpage where you sign up and make the connection. I paid $8 for 24 hours access - an absolute bargain!

I'm an airline pilot. I stay in hotels all the time. And if I was ever asked to pay $8.00 for 24 hours internet I'd tell the hotel where to go! People, belive me when I tell you that you are being scammed. High speed wireless internet is free in most reputable places. Crowne Plaza hotels nationwide are hooking up their hotels. Most large Holiday Inn hotels have either wireless or ethernet high speed free. Raddison Hotels nationwide are hooking up free wireless internet. Even some shopping malls now have free wireless internet!

I think the DFW airport authority operates the wireless connection at the airport there. Delta is trying to put free wireless at most of their large terminals.

Can I assume the 'villa' internet service is free?

Lyn... I have a mac iBook running os 10.2. All I do is open Netscape, choose any website and the browser automatically takes me to the home page for the wireless people. Just put in an email address. Make one up it doesn't have to be yours, and you'll be connected. It's that easy! And it's really fast!
    Enjoy!
