Here's the info on the requirements for getting married in Florida.

Couples wishing to say "I do" simply need to visit any county courthouse in the State to obtain a marriage license. The ceremony can be performed the same day a license is obtained. (Different requirements, such as a waiting period and premarital course apply for state residents. However, these laws do not apply to out-of-state residents getting married in Florida. Non-Florida-resident couples simply pay the $88.50 license fee. There is no waiting period involved and counseling is not required.

You must both attend in person, bring picture ID (passport is acceptable). If divorced or widowed, you need the divorce papers or death certificate.

Here's some wording of a civil ceremony http://www.troyfain.com/wedding.htm

Try here for beach weddings http://iwedyou.com/ or do an internet search and you'll find lots of them.

    Good luck!

A friend from work as just returned from getting married on the beach at Naples them honeymoon on Marco Island, for a price a lot more resonable than doing it back in the UK. They then had a bit of a night do for all the ones who couldn't make it over there.
there are a few companies on the web who do advertise the full package,(due to villas also being rented I have not put the link, but if uo dm me I can pass it on).
    They had a great time.

I've been researching a lot on Florida weddings this year as we're getting married next Sep over there.

Decided against a beach wedding, not very private and at times sand can blow about, plus if it rains then your in trouble!!

We ended up picking Sanibel Island for our wedding, heard so many good reports.

Here is a list of sites to get married in florida

[website link edited - please ask James to DM them for you]

We're going over for 3 weeks, renting a villa in Orlando for 1 week, travel down to Sanibel/Captiva island for 3 days, get married and then travel throughout Florida on honeymoon (Fort Lauderdale/Miami/the Keys etc)

    Good Luck

    Hi James

Sorry. It's OK to post links but you need to make really sure first that they don't have any other links to villas, car rental or theme park tickets. We check them all and unfortunately, the two you posted did have a link to something else.
