    No see ums bites

Just got back and had a great time.Thought I would just say beware of little insects the Americans call no-see-ums dont know if we get them over here. The name explains it self you dont see um but their bite is really iritating. Both my daughters went swimming in the pool late one evening and the next day were covered in these bites. They are small enough to get through mesh covering on balconies.
Walgreens near marker 5 were great and the pharmasist gave us some cream that helped.

They are nasty things.......they get right through all the screens........mostly into the pool area......I think they like biting wet people best......

I've never heard of them before.

I do remember getting a bite off a miniscule little beetley type insect thing that I brushed off my wrist (with a thwack) after it bit me. It certainly swelled up like a mozzie bite!

This probably is the equivalent of what we call here in Scotland the 'midges', they're so tiny but powerful when they bite as it's really stings and itchy.

Are they small black insects which lies on the water and kind of stick to your body. Because they sound like the ones we saw and got bitten , in blackpool some years ago.[msnmad][msncry]

My father in law who is from Tampa calls em "bite no sees". American's really do tell it like it is LOL. He laughs that we have names which need too much meaning read into them...he STILL insists "titleybread" is an expression!
