Will the region hacks work on US players? I'd like to play UK discs in my living room. The only multi system I have is the one in my Ford Windstar Mini Van!

It depends on what DVD player you have, some are hackable some aren't. Do a Google search for dvd region free hacks for your make and model number, there's also loads of discussion forums like here to help you out.
Failing that buy a cheap hackable player like a CyberHome 500 or just buy a DVD player on EBay which is already hacked.
Just go to ebay.com and search for "region free dvd".
There are always players for sale, often for a little as $50.

Hacks work on all dvd players, the manufacturers have made them that way so you can easily hack any USA dvd player as well as a UK one

Thers is an excellent site (videohelp.com) which list all known codes for nearly all players. Just search with your make and model and follow the instructions.
My Sony needs additional components to make it PAL enable....[msnmad]
Guess it's ebay and buy a multi player....[msnsmile]

best to get on the net and put in a search for the hack for your player, mine came up and had no problems doing it on the control, some are more harder though.

I did that and all the sites told me my model 'Sony DVP NS325' needed new components to play PAL DVDs.

This is a little misleading. Some DVD hardware require physical component changes....
As per other posts it depends on the manufacturer..
Look on http://regionhacks.datatestlab.com/
